Meeting legendary Buzz Aldrin- a man who stepped on the Moon

Dear friends,
During this post I would like to share some photographs from my trip to Carnarvon, WA. 

I was honoured to attend a two-day 'To the Moon and Back' festival and to meet a legendary Buzz Aldrin who stepped on the Moon on July 20th 1969 few minutes after Neil Armstrong.


В этой статье я хотела бы поделиться некоторыми фотографиями с моей поездки в Карнарвон, Западная Австралия.

Мне предоставилась возможность принять участие в в двухдневном фестивале "На Луну и Обратно» и встретится с легедарным космонавтом Баззом Олдрином,  который 20 июля 1969 ступил на Луну несколько минут после того, как это сделал Нил Армстронг.

It all started in Perth Domestic Airport where from two full of festival attendants planes headed towards Carnarvon for the opening of the Carnarvon Space Museum. Buzz arrived on time and looked absolutely charming. Buzz is a very charismatic person, i just couldn't stop looking at him. Astronaut was in style from head to toes- wearing jeans, black t-shirt, blue jacket, red scarf and blue moccasins. And his eyes were full of live and had such a sparkle.

Все началось в Перте, в аэропорту, где два полных народу самолета направились в сторону Карнарвона для того, что бы принять участие в открытие Карнарвонского Музея Космонавтики. Базз прибыл вовремя и выглядел очаровательно- астронавт настолько харизматичен, что я не могла отвести от него глаз. В свои 82 года, Олдрин выглядел как молодой парен: стильно одетый в джинсы, черную футболку, синюю куртку, красный шарф и синие мокасины- его глаза горели как звезды.

I was lucky to have a seat right behind Buzz Aldrin. And lucky again when he left anautograph for me in his book 'Magnificent Desolation'.

Так сложилось, что в самолете я сидела прямо за Баззом. И, опять повезло, когда он оставил автограф для меня в своей книге “Чудесная скорбь”.

   In Carnarvon there were several events to attend: trackers presentation, Cosmic Cocktail Party at OTC      Satellite Earth Station where Buzz gave a breath-taking speech about Apollo 11 landing on the moon and  a Carnarvon Space & Technology Museum Opening. 

 В Карнарвоне была целая программа:презентации трекеров, вечеринка "космический коктейль" на земная станции спутниковой связи, где Базз произнёс захватывающюю речь о первой посадке людей на Луну "Аполлон-11", а также открытие Карнарвонского Космического Музея.

In the end, I would like to share a very interesting fact about the astronaut which makes his life even more mystical- Buzz Aldrin mother's name was MARION MOON.
